Sunday was the grand opening of the new Champaign Public Library, which sits right next to the old library. The old library will be demolished to make way for an expanded parking lot. More info.

I was wondering why there was a cop standing in the road on Sunday...
Do they have any books? It's hard to tell from the pictures exactly what everyone is doing there.
Seriously, I love that both Urbana and Champaign have brand new beautiful libraries. I spend lots of time in both.
Yes, all the books and media are in the new library.
One thing they don't have yet in non-fiction is all the Dewey Decimal labels on the ends of the shelves.
When I lived there, I LOVED that library! I am proud to see that there is a new facility.Next time I'm up there I'll check it out!
